ด้วยเมื่อวันที่ 4 กุมภาพันธ์ 2549 คณะกรรมาธิการยุโรปได้ตีพิมพ์ประกาศกฏระเบียบ จำนวน 2 รายการ อันได้แก่ (1) Commission Regulation (EC) No 199/2006 of 3 February 2006 amending Regulation (EC) No 466/2001 setting maximum levels for certain contaminants in foodstuffs as regards dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs ใน EU Official Journal L 32 Volume 34 และ (2) Commission Directive 2006/13/EC of 3 February 2006 amending Annexes I and II to Directive 2002/32/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on undesirable substances in animal feed as regards dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs ใน EU Official Journal L 32 Volume 44 เพื่อตราใช้เป็นกฏหมายแล้วอย่างเป็นทางการ

ด้วยเมื่อวันที่ 6 มกราคม 2549 สหภาพยุโรป (EU) ได้ออกประกาศ ใน EU Official Journal L 3 Volume 3 อย่างเป็นทางการ Commission Regulation (EC) No 6/2006 of 5 January 2006 amending Annexes I and II to Council Regulation (EEC) No 2377/90 laying down a Community procedure for the establishment of maximum residue limits of veterinary medicinal products in foodstuffs of animal origin, as regards dihydrostreptomycin, tosylchloramide sodium and Piceae turiones recentes extractum ว่าด้วยการแก้ไขภาคผนวกที่ 1 และ 2 ของกฎระเบียบ Council Regulation (EEC) No 2377/90 ว่าด้วยการกำหนดค่าตกค้างสูงสุดของยาทางสัตวแพทย์ในอาหารมนุษย์ที่ทำมาจากสัตว์

ตามกฏระเบียบ Regulation (EC) No 2160/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 November 2003 on the control of Salmonella and other specified food-borne zoonotic ซึ่งได้มีผลปรับใช้แล้วตั้งแต่วันที่ 12 ธันวาคม 2546 (ค.ศ. 2003) เป็นต้นมา มีเนื้อหาครอบคลุมเกี่ยวกับบทบาท และหน้าที่ของประเทศที่สามที่ประสงค์จะส่งออกสัตว์ปีกที่มีชีวิต ไข่ฟัก และสินค้าสัตว์ปีกไปจำหน่ายยังสหภาพยุโรป

เมื่อวันที่ 15 พฤศจิกายน 2548 คณะกรรมาธิการยุโรป ได้ลงมติเห็นชอบต่อร่าง (proposal) กฏระเบียบใหม่ว่าด้วย เกณฑ์บรรทัดฐานด้านจุลชีววิทยาสำหรับสินค้าอาหาร (Microbiological criteria for foodstuffs) เพื่อตราใช้เป็นกฏหมายแล้วอย่างเป็นทางการ
