ด้วยเมื่อวันที่ 14 กุมภาพันธ์ 2549 คณะกรรมาธิการยุโรปได้ตีพิมพ์ประกาศข้อแนะนำว่าด้วยการลดค่าปนเปื้อนของสาร dioxins, furans และ Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) ในอาหารสัตว์และอาหารมนุษย์ ตาม Commission Recommendation 2006/88/EC of 6 February 2006 on the reduction of the presence of dioxins, furans and PCBs in feedingstuffs and foodstuffs ใน EU Official Journal L 42 Volume 26 |

ด้วยเมื่อวันที่ 4 กุมภาพันธ์ 2549 คณะกรรมาธิการยุโรปได้ตีพิมพ์ประกาศกฏระเบียบ จำนวน 2 รายการ อันได้แก่ (1) Commission Regulation (EC) No 199/2006 of 3 February 2006 amending Regulation (EC) No 466/2001 setting maximum levels for certain contaminants in foodstuffs as regards dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs ใน EU Official Journal L 32 Volume 34 และ (2) Commission Directive 2006/13/EC of 3 February 2006 amending Annexes I and II to Directive 2002/32/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on undesirable substances in animal feed as regards dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs ใน EU Official Journal L 32 Volume 44 เพื่อตราใช้เป็นกฏหมายแล้วอย่างเป็นทางการ |

ตามกฏระเบียบ Regulation (EC) No 2160/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 November 2003 on the control of Salmonella and other specified food-borne zoonotic ซึ่งได้มีผลปรับใช้แล้วตั้งแต่วันที่ 12 ธันวาคม 2546 (ค.ศ. 2003) เป็นต้นมา มีเนื้อหาครอบคลุมเกี่ยวกับบทบาท และหน้าที่ของประเทศที่สามที่ประสงค์จะส่งออกสัตว์ปีกที่มีชีวิต ไข่ฟัก และสินค้าสัตว์ปีกไปจำหน่ายยังสหภาพยุโรป |
